Job Summary:Licensed Practical Nurse: The successful incumbent will work with clients in a variety of clinic settings within the scope of Florida State and Federal Guidelines and DOH: Pinellas policies and procedures.
Performs the following nursing services:
:Adult and childrens immunizations
:Obtains patient medical history and vital signs
:Administers medication ordered by the provider
:Educates and provides information regarding family planning, STD screening and treatment services
:Responds with other clinical staff to emergency situations that occur in clinic
:Works with clinic manager to assure efficient clinic flow
:Utilizes an EMR to document client visits
:Performs EKGs, Spirometry, and other medical office tests
Other Related Duties as Assigned:
:Performs other duties as required
:Keeps supervisor informed
:Attends staff meetings as required
:Attends training for personal and professional growth
:Meets annual training requirements
:Provides back:up assistance to the admitting department
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for the position:
:Knowledge of nursing and public health principles, practices and techniques.
:Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
:Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, utilizing approved DOH abbreviations when documenting in the electronic medical record
:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
:Ability to operate a personal computer and accompanying software programs
:Ability to safely administer medications and immunizations within scope of nursing licensure
:Ability to work with persons of a different race, language, culture, or socioeconomic status
:Ability to make sound nursing judgments independently
:Ability to adapt to necessary changes in duties, duty station, or work hours for the benefit of the agency
:Ability to deal effectively with customers of various types of backgrounds and cultures.
:Ability to learn and maintain proficiency of computer skills and new programs required by Medical and Clinical Services divisions
:Skills in one:on:one interviewing; ability to maintain accurate and appropriate medical documentation in EMR system
:Current Florida Nursing License
:At least 1 year EMR experience
:At least 1 year experience working as an LPN in Primary Care Setting
Other Desirable Qualifications:
1 year experience working in a fast:paced medical office.
