Summary: Directs and coordinates patient transportation activities in a hospital environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
:Receives requests for patient transportation services via telephone, radio dispatch and email; exhibits excellent telephone etiquette and listening skills.
:Evaluates task demand and personnel status; interprets demand and response times in accordance with patient acuity and personnel availability.
:Schedules and dispatches transportation services associates, ensuring accurate and timely completion of requests while maximizing staff productivity.
:Develops and promotes positive effective customer relations with patients, patient family members, visitors and client staff.
:Liaisons with patient transportation department and other client and company departments.
:Resolves issues related to service and operations, coordinating with hospital staff and coworkers.
:Identifies and implements solutions to service and business needs.
:Promotes a safe, healthy, orderly work environment, ensuring equipment is safe and in good working condition; ensures associates follow infection control and proper body mechanics processes.
:Ensures company hardware, software programs, paging and phone systems are operable. Troubleshoots technical issues and works with client and corporate Information Systems departments to resolve problems.
:Facilitates regular associate in:service training, including state and corporate policies and procedures.
:Provides patient transportation services when needed.
:Performs other duties as assigned.
