The Straz Center has begun its search for a full time Community Programs Coordinator, reporting to the Community Programs Manager. This position is responsible for supporting the mission of the Straz Center and Patel Conservatory by serving as an ambassador throughout the community and providing administrative support to the Community Programs Manager.Primary Responsibilities:Community Relations:Works with Community Programs Manager to further the mission of the Straz Center and the Patel Conservatory within the community. Actively seeks opportunities to inform the community of available educational opportunities and programming to include but not limited to scholarships, opportunities to attend performances or dress rehearsals and participate in various workshops and master classes.Assists Community Program Manager with the reporting and reserving of Community Ticket Opportunities.Helps coordinate the Opera In Schools program and other Opera Tampa outreaches. Helps coordinate speakers and their schedules for the Great American Teach-In and other off-site teaching programs, ie Philip Shore Arts Day, Career Fairs, etc.Teaches outreach classes in area of expertise, as assigned. Additional duties as requested by the Community Programs Manager or Vice President of Education.Administrative:Assists Community Programs Manager with personnel, programmatic, and curricular management of the Community Partnership program.Maintains current database of community partners, their contact information; and/or other related information. Inputs and manages Outreach schedules to include all required information (who, what, when, and why) as well as any changes. Assists with evaluations, and data collection for the purposes of reporting specifics on community statistics.Works with Straz Center Marketing Department on schedule of outreach events for possible coverage.Acts as Assistant Camp Director for the Patel Conservatory during the summer months.Field Trips:Provide education representation for all daytime Center activities and field trips.Oversees booking and scheduling of Day @ the Straz Center Field Trip (DAS) inquiries.Oversees reservations for all Patel Conservatory and Opera Tampa Invited Dress Rehearsals.Works with Straz Center Marketing Department to distribute marketing materials for DAS field trips and other outreach events.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with parents, students and staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create an excellent customer care experience for parents, students and staff. Resolves customer inquiries and concerns in a positive, tactful, and helpful manner.Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to effectively manage changing priorities while still meeting deadlines. Detail-oriented with good proofreading skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with regards to sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Ability to remain poised and effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to complete basic math computations. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with database software preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends, as required. Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's degree with a focus in arts education preferred or equivalent related work experience. 3-5 years' experience in arts education, customer service, development, sales, or arts administration required.
