The Florida Department of Health develops policies and plans that support health goals, enforce laws and regulations that protect the health of all residents and visitors, and link people to needed health care services. The Florida Department of Health also provides specialized assistance to pregnant women, infants, and children with special health care needs, regulates health care practitioners, and provides medical disability determinations.

OPS Human Services Program Consultant I
The OPS Human Services Program Consultant I is responsible for implementing Medical Monitoring Project (MMP) activities throughout the state of Florida. MMP is a surveillance system designed to learn more about the experiences and needs of people who are living with HIV. It is supported by several government agencies and conducted by state and local health departments along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).People who are selected are asked to participate in an interview during which they answer questions about their behavior and HIV medical care. They also give the MMP project staff permission to review their medical chart. The incumbent will recruit study participants in order to perform face:to:face or phone interviews with clients, as well as abstract clinical information from their medical records.

Responsibilities include:
:
Recruit selected HIV+ persons to participate in the MMP interview and medical records abstraction components.
:
Perform face:to:face or over:the:phone behavioral interviews with patients who have consented to participate in MMP. During interview administration, the primary responsibilities of interviewers are as follows:
:
Determine eligibility and enlist full cooperation for the entirety of the interview.
:
Obtain informed consent for study participation.
:
Provide respondents with necessary information and motivation to help them be attentive during the interview and to answer questions as fully and accurately as possible.
:
Ask the interview questions.
:
Probe inadequate responses.
:
Record responses consistently and accurately.
:
Interact with respondents in a way that does not influence the substance of their responses.
:
Distribute tokens of appreciation.
:
Medical Record Abstractions (MRAs) should be completed for all sampled persons who have undergone an interview and for whom a MRA facility has been identified.

Perform ongoing data entry of all completed activities in tracking databases and portals.

Transfer medical record and patient interview data to headquarters, in compliance with
