Technical Manager
Kobie Marketing – Saint Petersburg, FL

The Technical Manager manages the Development Team within an industry and partner vertical at Kobie.

The Technical Manager is the primary product and technical liaison to partner with client IT departments, and the Kobie client services organization. You will be leading a diverse set of skilled associates to develop solutions. The Manager will assist in the management process and resource planning. As a key component of our client implementations and our long-term support model, the right candidate should have experience managing development and architectural solutions for large IT projects.

This role will support the Kobie general Program Manager responsible for implementations for several of Kobie’s key clients. You will participate in the business and technical relationship with the client and will be tasked with leading a team in the creation of high quality solutions, planning resources and managing the expectations of a high profile partner. This person needs to quickly understand business problems, be an effective communicator and able to lead in the creation of solutions that utilize current technology and work within the service provider landscape.

The Technical Manager must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal counterparts and prospect/client stakeholders throughout the product development cycles.

As the Technical Manager, you will:
Become an expert in Kobie Marketing’s application platform
Interact directly with business-oriented internal and external clients, providing a translation layer to technically-oriented marketing technologists
Be able to convey customer requirements to IT, Operations and Product Management teams
Be comfortable communicating with and representing Kobie’s brand with Fortune 50, 100, and 500 clients
Create supporting documentation and processes for new technology configurations, customizations and functionalities available to clients
Ensure technical documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
Approach all programs and clients with a holistic understanding of their business, technology and marketing goals in order to provide sound development advice and create strong technology offerings with the assistance of IT colleagues
Be able to assist with solution pricing process via the creation of technical LOEs (level of effort)
Travel varies per client with peak times during initial project kick-off and sales cycle (Overall time may reach 10% total travel)
You will understand the big picture& makes design decisions to align with it.
You will also own the responsibility of the overall technical deliverables in a sprint or iteration outcome.
You will accurately report the status with alarms, explanations and solutions.
You will be business facing. You will be partnering with them to deliver business driven projects& successfully influence the business, IT domain teams with requirements, technology use& design decisions.
You will act as a communication proxy for your team and will frequently be explaining technical decisions in business terms.
You will raise the talent level within the team - through mentoring developers in Java, JEE, Spring, Javascript, Angular, HTML, ATDD & drive the team towards on target high quality deliverables
You will establish your credibility through the quality of your work& through strong hand on coding expertise, remove the technical impediments for the team.
You will also be contributing to SDLC best practices& drive code reviews.

Describing a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), API Stack, and Overall Technology in Relation to Given Business Use Cases
RDBMS technology, for real time systems. Data modeling experience for OLTP systems is a plus. BI and Warehouse experience is a plus.
Mentor your staff consisting of all delivery skill sets
Project scoping and developing IT Project Timelines
Communicating both Business and Technology Strategy
5+ years of Java/J2EE development experience is required. 2+ years of C#.NET is preferred.
Learning, Researching and Embracing the Loyalty industry
2+ years of solid Angular experience in an enterprise setting
Programming including Java, .Net, SQL. Enterprise application architecture is a plus
Strong experience with REST services and Spring

Knowledge:
Broad technology knowledge, having worked with custom development projects, systems integration efforts and database systems.
Experience leading teams of 6 or more associates
Strong foundational knowledge of how software and hardware systems interact.
Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technology-centric marketing services agency with a rapidly expanding customer base and able to present to potential prospects.
Has previously sought out potential problems and project gaps prior to implementation and assisted with taking development projects from the initiation phase through the delivery phase and into production support.
Ability to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language in the vernacular of each group.

Required Experience:

7+ years of experience with hands-on technology projects. At least 2 years managing a team, longer timeframes are preferred. Experience overseeing large technical project implementations.
