The Florida Department of Health is responsible for the health and safety of all citizens and visitors to the state. As a public health agency, the Florida Department of Health must monitor the health status of Floridians, diagnose and investigate health problems, and mobilize local communities to address health:related issues. The Florida Department of Health develops policies and plans that support health goals, enforce laws and regulations that protect the health of all residents and visitors, and link people to needed health care services. The Florida Department of Health also provides specialized assistance to pregnant women, infants, and children with special health care needs, regulates health care practitioners, and provides medical disability determinations.
Human Services Program Analyst
This is a highly responsible, full time position, able to work independently and is detail:oriented in assessing client needs for Healthy Start services according to state mandated screening. A strategic thinker with the ability to multi:task and communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences. Familiar with all aspects of Healthy Start activities including collecting and analyzing data from internal and external sources, producing reports, and presenting results. Strong written and verbal communication skills required for internal and external communication. Position requires ability to work with policy makers, youth, adults, professionals in various fields, and internal agency leadership. Computer skills including typing, data entry and Microsoft Word and Excel required. Position requires occasional local travel. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
Processing incoming mail by opening, sorting and prioritizing work and communicating with team members to delegate appropriate screens.
Accessing multiple data systems to process screens.
Entering data in an accurate manner, within two business days of receipt.
Communicating with partners about questions or concerns on screens and data.
Preparing the monthly report of employee hours for the Healthy Start Team, screens entered and timeliness and related invoicing documents.
Purchasing appropriate supplies utilizing a P:Card and rectifying charges in SAMAS.
Maintains copies and documentation of all screens entered, archived and sent to partners.
Completing and submitting required reports by deadlines when requested.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word, Excel, and Paint.
Valid Florida drivers license or able to get one within 30 days of hire.
Two years data entry experience.
Other Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to multitask, being able to coordinate duties among the team while gathering and reporting statistics on the information and documents received and sent.
