*Job Summary:*
**
Process all aspects of semimonthly payroll for hourly and salaried associates. Reconcile various payroll related general ledger accounts. Administer the collection of taxes on equity compensation, calculate and process payments to employees on leaves of absence, and administer associate wage garnishments.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
Maintain all federal, state, and local tax data and direct deposit requests
Calculate retroactive pay and final paychecks.
Reconcile and post required transactions to the general ledger.
Prepare and post transfer pay, commission, and salary charges to commission based associate blotters.
Print and seal payroll checks.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Run established reports for distribution to various business units.
*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*

Payroll software or ability to learn specific applications.
General office practices, procedures, and methods.
Basic accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Basic accrual based accounting practices.
Wage and Hour Law.
Federal and state mandates including FLSA and FMLA
Equity compensation.
Multi state payroll taxation.
*Skill in:*

Preparing, processing and maintaining transaction documentation, files, and records.
Gathering and compiling information
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, electronic communication and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
*Ability to:*

Identify and resolve discrepancies.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels
Demonstrate efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
Provide a high level of customer service.
Maintain strict confidentiality of associate records.
*Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:*
**
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience.
PeopleSoft vs. 9.1 or higher preferred.

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience approved by Human Resources.
*Licenses/Certifications:*

FPC preferred.
