Job Description
Seeking a detail oriented entry to mid-level financial analyst to participate in the departmental duties; this includes month end close, preparation of the accrual, variance analysis and standard management reporting. This position will work alongside other department team members to prepare financial reports, and summarize business activity in the areas of expenses and profitability.
Duties include but not limited to participating in:
Participate with the month-end close process and reporting of financial results which includes interacting with business leaders on expense management
Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts and reporting of variances from budget
Prepare financial statements for individual business contracts such as joint ventures and management arrangements
Completion of special projects and assignments as assigned by the Controller and Senior Analyst
Minimum 2+ years experience as a financial analyst required
Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting required
Masters Degree with a concentration in Finance preferred
Experience in the healthcare, medical laboratory or insurance industry highly preferred
Advance understanding and proficiency with Microsoft Access and Excel.
Ability to analyze business data draws sound conclusions, develop practical recommendations and present them convincingly.
Good problem solving skills
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to interface satisfactorily with all levels of management
Team Oriented
Provides financial/administrative support to the general area relating to element of expenses, debt analysis, and other major account variances. Set-ups, reviews, and monitors accounting.
Skill Requirements
Administrative: Answer telephones, maintain logs/records, organizational skills, proficiency with numbers, research information, time management, train employees, use computerized databases, written and verbal communications.
Machine: Calculator, personal computer.
Physical Demands: Speech clarity, utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on ones feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping.
Vision Requirements: Able to pass standardized color vision test, as required by test performed.
License/Certification/Education: Normally a B.S. in Accounting or related field and 2-4 years of experience.
