The CVP and Actuary of the forecasting unit of the Actuarial department will lead much of the actuarial modeling efforts to support financial plan, value of new business, marketing allowables and new business profitability analysis. The position will work closely with Marketing and Finance to develop the marketing and financial plans, and to evaluate ways to optimize financial outcomes.

Responsibilities Include:

:Manage Actuarial Forecasting Team consisting of 2:3 members
:Work closely with counterparts in Finance, Marketing and Actuarial to produce well thought out forecast results
:Support strategic analysis through financial scenario development and communication
:Ensure accurate, efficient modeling of direct to market life insurance products
:Understand profitability targets and ensure new business meets requirements
:Present and defend forecasts and analysis to NYL Senior Management
:Support Experience Studies and Analytics team in ensuring appropriate assumption development
:Manage talent and develop team


:Life products modeling and projection experience required
:Experience with actuarial software programs such as MG:ALFA or Prophet
:Experience with simplified underwriting and direct market life insurance a plus
:Strong and effective communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to present to senior leaders, as well as peers, in a clear manner, fostering dialogue and helping to drive decisions; ability to communicate technical, actuarial concepts in an easy to understand manner
:Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively, both internally to NYL Direct and within the broader NYL organization
:Strong management skills
